Tonight at Home House in central London, KTZ recreated their catwalk show for an exclusive selection of press and buyers who missed out during London Fashion Week.

KTZ offered us models store credit in lieu of payment for walking in the show – but I’m definitely not complaining!  A beautiful fusion of 70′s punk rock style and traditional Massai Mara warrior attire – I can’t wait to for the collection to come out next February!  Check out these backstage pictures of how all rocking the new collection…

With our pumpkins beginning to rot on the doorstep and our carefully prepped costumes lying forgotten in our dirty laundry baskets, it looks like we’ve all managed to survive another Hallowe’en devoid of monsters in the closet and psychopaths behind the curtain.  However, it’s always better to be safe than sorry so here are some of our top tips for avoiding a gory high-school-horror-esque death next time round – just in case: (more…)

It’s not often I venture past the East/West divide of London, but an invite to an intimate performance from the Saviour of Blues was enough to tempt me out of my usual surroundings.

With £30,000 of student debt to my name, you can understand why I strive to live a frugal lifestyle.

Yes, I admit it, most of the food in my fridge has a reduced price tag on it, and the sales section of Urban Outfitters is always my first port of call. And now that I have misplaced my Barclay’s Cycle Hire fob key (£45 for the year and free for all journeys under 30 mins- bargain!) I have decided to walk the 2.6 miles to work instead of paying for public transport. (more…)

bestival

The festival season may have come the end, but it doesn’t mean you can’t start thinking about next year. And with that in mind The LDN Perspective team decided to use their in-the-field research and data collection to identify the best ways to achieve the optimum festival experience. Bestival was the subject of our case study and so from our 5 days of qualitative research we came up with these Festival Experience Optimisation (FEO) guidelines that you can implement next summer: (more…)

7.30am
Alarm. Alarm. Alarm. No fuck off, I’m definitely not getting up and trekking all the way to South Kensington to walk in my friend Jess’s brand Hardware LDN‘s guerilla fashion show. It’s cold, I’m tired and I’m in no mood to do anyone any favours – especially if they involve getting out of bed.

After a certain amount of peer pressure from EJ I’m up, dressed, showered and craving some caffeine. (more…)

On September 4, 2011 Future Cinemas established a secret event for a select audience of 80s film fans. Its purpose was to showcase the lost art of aerial combat and to insure that this handful of people could relive the story of the best fighter pilots in the world.

They succeeded.

Today, the naysayers call it that homo-erotic volleyball movie with that crazy Scientologist guy who ruined Oprah’s sofa.

But we, the nostalgic and loyal fans, call it: TOP GUN. (more…)

Not another ironic comment on hipsters, by Alexa Gould-Kavet.

Amid a stream of angry/earnest/hopeful articles about the state of the hipster, I have a couple of points to make on the social identity both the mainstream and the alt-stream love to hate. I’m going to make the fairly safe assumption you know what I mean by ‘hipster’. Let’s just get one thing straight: I don’t intend to claim high hipsterdom nor deny any and all affiliation. One camp claims it proudly, while defending their cheap cigarette brand to the bitter end. At the other side of the spectrum we have writers who completely ignore their subject position, and haughtily diss those pathetic hipsters. I hope I can remain, albeit a bit unnerved, between these two poles. The main point is, I’m not trying to say they’re all phony, or that they’re all the new avant garde. I just hope to articulate the questions being thrown into the snake pit. (more…)

Notting Hill Carnival

Every year without fail, the Notting Hill Carnival reminds me how much I love living in London and how multi-cultural and diverse our city really is.  It sounds like a total cliche but when I’m in a massive crowd of people and I can see Italian Stallions, Rudeboys, Sloane Rangers, Shoreditch Hipsters and everyone in between all dancing to the same bashment beats, it’s difficult not to feel like that.  Everyone is there to do exactly the same thing – eat jerk chicken and bump n’ grind.
